What is Orange, The World?

Orange the World is the global campaign against violence against women and girls. The campaign is held every year from November 25, the International Day against Violence against Women, to December 10, the International Human Rights Day. The days in between are the 16 Days of Action. In more than 100 countries, buildings or other objects are now illuminated in orange during this period, and debates, exhibitions, demonstrations, and all kinds of activities are organized.

If we all unite, together we can end violence against women and girls. By signing the pledge of support, you indicate that you also want to commit yourself to combating violence against women and girls, as a woman, man or human being, as a professional or spectator, as a friend, neighbor or colleague. The promise consists of five points:

• I respect the dignity and rights of women and girls.
• I listen carefully to women and girls who share their experiences and offer them support.
• I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for women and girls.
• I work to promote open conversations about the challenges women and girls face.
• I encourage others to act consciously and respectfully with the rights and feelings of women and girls.
